Green River > Kayenta, 460km
First we visited the Arches National Park. I left my bike at the Visitors Centre and went on the back of Charlie so that I could take photos – and many photos I took ! A few…
What do you see…
So narrow
One of the Windows arches
Good creative photography Charlie
That’s Charlie standing at the base, just to give a bit of perspective.
The Delicate Arch – symbol on the Utah numberplates.
Their had been some heavy rains before we got there and the roads recently cleared of the excess mud from flash floods.
The walks to the Arches were easy, but oh the heat!! There is no wind and the sun just bounces off the rock. When we got back to the bike and going again, the temp was showing at 41 which felt much cooler.
The Landscape Arch, it spans over 300 ft.
Next it was off Four Corners, just because we were in the “neighbourhood”. This is where New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Utah all meet.
Charlie in all 4 States at once, as you do
Then my turn.
X marks “the spot”
And this is what is around Four Corners in every direction – nothing but empty countryside.
We made a dash for Kayenta to try to beat the rain and it just started as we pulled into our hotel. From 41 earlier in the day, it was now 24. No camping tonight 🙂
