Jasper > Radium Springs, 372km
Some pics of Jasper and Banff National Parks…
As we got further south the smoke haze became quite bad, in fact we rode past where the recent fires had destroyed all the trees and there were still some areas smoking. It’s only very recently that the smoke has lessened so that the mountains can be seen, its been so thick, could smell it too.
This is Matt and Fiona from Sydney – they have been travelling on their Honda 250’s for about 18 months, started in South America and this is their most northern point. They are now heading for LA then home. It was great chatting with them, we had lots of questions for our own trip down south later this year. Their blog is www.ourodysseyoverland.com Great meeting with you, ride safe.
We finally saw one…a wild grizzly !! It was 25-30m off the road and digging away at something, I kept my motor running just in case, because everybody says how quickly they can move. All we need now is a bull moose but as it gets hotter, its more unlikely we will see one. We did see one at a distance in a lake, but would be great to see one up close.
Saw some mountain goats today too.
Stayed at a great little place in Radium Springs – The Piccadilly, clean and comfortable, good price, includes a great breakfast.

You dont need to worry – that would be too long for me.
